I’m a Buddhist most of the time, but today I’m too angry to be a Buddhist. Tomorrow I’ll go back to being a Buddhist.

Even more annoying than homophobic guys that would punch another guy in the face if they wore make-up

is guys that put on dresses or make-up as a “joke” because being a girl is so HILARIOUS guys it’s so FUNNY like i think it’s just a more subtle, passive agressive,…

Ok yes, I understand your points: I shouldn’t have said the second example is WORSE, just more prominent. As someone who has been physically attacked for how they present themselves, I can confidently say it shook me much more than seeing things like “brolitas”.

Thanks for your addition, it actually made me reconsider my point much more.

likewise, your thoughtful rebuttal has solidified the parts of your post I agree with. in some cases, there is definite homophobia/misogyny involved

i don’t often see girls dressing up as a guy to make fun of them at parties when they’re drunk

i dont know it’s just really annoying to me??

I don’t think your post is super good, or super relevant to breaking down the walls of homophobia

dudes who will PHYSICALLY HARM people based on their GENDER IDENTITY or SEXUALITY on one side

straight guys who are wearing makeup to subvert their gender role for comedy purposes or to otherwise provoke a reaction on the other

hmm.. You’re right. the people not physically harming anyone are the worse problem here

when a dude from the second group puts on make up for any reason he is making himself vulnerable to the first group

there is maybe an argument to be made that subconciously they’re being misogynistic and implicitly saying that the female gender role in society is absurd (wearing different clothes, wearing makeup, more excessive grooming), but there is no one who is putting on a dress as a way to attack the idea of being a girl

real reasons for wearing a dress and or makeup:

1. (the main reason) a girl has drunkenly convinced you to wear a dress and/or makeup

2. you think you look silly in a dress and/or makeup and you’re subverting your pre-established identity for comedy purposes (like the kids in the hall)

2. you are trying out your repressed two-spiritedness, gender confusion, etc. in a safer space, and coming to terms with your fluid identity

The fight against SOPA is meaningless unless we end Intellectual Property

There is an assumption that what is must always be. Since the entertainment industry drives such huge revenue it should continue this. On Wednesday January 18, 2012 Gonzo Times went black with countless other sites including Wikipedia and Reddit. This was all over SOPA & PIPA. This was a historic event, but it in no way fixed the problem or brought enough attention to the problem. What is the problem? The problem is Intellectual Property.
Intellectual Property is a myth. It is invented with the backing of the threat of force of the state. It is the idea that knowledge or information can be owned by one certain company or person. The myth is perpetuated that people who copy are pirates or thieves. Even those who file share and copy movies and music have come to call themselves pirates. The problem is that it is not piracy or theft. It is theft if I take something of yours. If I copy something of someones or my own it is simply not theft, it is copying.
